JOB DESCRIPTION
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk handles incoming and outgoing goods by verifying deliveries, preparing shipments, and maintaining accurate documentation. The role includes operating handling equipment, managing inventory, entering data into systems, coordinating with carriers and internal teams, and ensuring an organized, safe, and efficient shipping and receiving area.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive deliveries and verify product accuracy (quantity, quality, condition, documentation)
- Prepare orders for shipment (packing, labeling, shipping documents)
- Load and unload trucks using a forklift or other handling equipment
- Enter data into the computer system (purchase orders, delivery slips, tracking numbers, etc.)
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in the shipping and receiving area
- Work collaboratively with carriers and other departments (production, purchasing, customer service)
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or delays to the immediate supervisor
- Participate in inventory control and stock management
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a similar position (1 to 2 years)
- Experience with inventory management software
- Comfortable with computers and web interfaces
- Ability to operate a forklift (valid certification is an asset)
- Excellent physical ability
- Ability to work under pressure
